There’s a great tradition of onion breads around continental Europe and when you’ve tasted this you’ll be able to tell why! A generous portion of chopped onion gives this bread a soft, moist texture and a gentle, almost sweet tang. Wonderful with any savoury foods and great toasted. Alan recommends it toasted with pate or for toasted sandwiches. And here’s a tip: scatter a few caraway seeds on a slice before laying on cheese and toasting it!!
